Important Notification concerning DRA CONVEYANCING LTD t/a DRA Legal

We are obliged to inform you that with immediate effect our firm will not be taking on Property Conveyancing cases of any kind. The type of work we will no longer be acting in are property sales, purchases, transfers, first registrations, etc.

This change arises because, effective Monday 1st July 2024, we will no longer be regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers and as a result we will not be authorised to perform certain legal work, known as ‘reserved legal activities’.

Please be assured that our firm is NOT closing down, we will continue to provide legal services in Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney for clients locally and further afield. Our firm’s principal, Derek Adkins, who remains a Solicitor (non-practising) will do so under the auspices of the respected body The Institute of Professional Willwriters.

As such, we will continue to hold compulsory professional indemnity insurance (PII) with the same level of cover of two million pounds (£2,000,000) per case. We will continue to trade from our high street premises at 138 Huddersfield Road, Mirfield WF14 8AN.

Any clients with current matters underway, or with important documents such as Wills and LPAs, & Deeds stored with us, can rest assured that all matters will be properly progressed and any documents will continue to be securely stored.
